Plaintiffs suing Amex over anti-steering rules seek partial summary judgment in US suit
( December 15, 2023, 20:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs suing the American Express Company over its allegedly anticompetitive anti-steering rules imposed on merchants filed a motion for partial summary judgment concerning the relevant market. "The undisputed facts establish that the relevant market is the two-sided market for GPCC transactions in the United States. Because there is no genuine dispute of fact concerning the relevant market, Plaintiffs are entitled to partial summary judgment," plaintiffs told the Eastern District of New York. Debit card transactions are not in the relevant product market, the motion argued. Emerging payment technologies are not economic substitutes either, they said.See attached document....
