ESPN to acquire NFL Network, other NFL media assets in exchange for 10 percent stake

( August 5, 2025, 23:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: ESPN, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is acquiring NFL Network and other media assets from the National Football League in exchange for a 10 percent equity stake in ESPN. The sports media giant would own and operate NFL Network as well as gain the rights to the NFL RedZone brand and distribute that channel to pay TV operators. NFL Fantasy Football would also merge with the ESPN Fantasy Football product. The NFL will continue to operate media businesses and properties such as NFL Films, NFL+, NFL.com, the NFL Podcast Network, NFL FAST and official websites for the league's 32 clubs.Statement follows below:...
