Booking to clarify if hosts are individuals or businesses, Polish watchdog says

( August 12, 2025, 10:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Accommodation portal Booking has agreed to clearly indicate whether providers on its platform are businesses or private individuals, under a commitment decision published today by Poland’s competition regulator. UOKiK has found that Booking failed to meet transparency requirements, risking confusion about consumer rights and liability. Booking must implement disclosure changes within a month and compensate eligible users with loyalty program upgrades or travel credits, depending on their account status, UOKiK president Tomasz Chróstny said.Statement follows.
