China finds halogenated butyl rubber from Canada, Japan dumped on its market

( August 12, 2025, 08:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's Ministry of Commerce, or Mofcom, today announced a preliminary ruling that halogenated butyl rubber imported from Canada and Japan was being dumped in China, causing material injury to the domestic industry. The anti-dumping investigation, launched on Sep. 14, 2024, also found that imports from India were minimal and therefore Mofcom terminated the investigation for that origin. Effective Aug. 14, importers of the product from Canada and Japan will be required to pay deposits to Chinese customs at rates ranging from 13.8 percent to 40 percent. Halogenated butyl rubber is mainly used in the inner linings of tubeless tires.The statement follows:...
