UK cyber strategy not ready for converging tech, government-backed study says

The report urged policymakers to focus on technologies “closer to deployment,” where cybersecurity risks are more visible, rather than early-stage research. It warned that “thinking about convergence doesn’t happen naturally, unless you have the right leadership,” and called for a long-term, interdisciplinary task force to manage risks that arise from “broader social, economic and political contexts.”Statement follows.
