China trade grows in July; Asean leads as top partner while trade with US falls

( August 7, 2025, 07:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's total trade rose 6.7 percent in July to 3.91 trillion yuan ($540 billion), with exports up 8 percent and imports climbing 4.8 percent for a second consecutive month, customs data showed today. In the first seven months of 2025, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or Asean, remained China's largest trading partner, with trade up 9.4 percent to 4.29 trillion yuan, accounting for 16.7 percent of total trade. The European Union ranked second, while trade with the US fell 11.1 percent to 2.42 trillion yuan, making it China's third-largest partner. Export growth was led by electronics, including data-processing devices, integrated circuits and automobiles.
