Homeservices of America hit with third amended US antitrust complaint by home buyers

( August 5, 2025, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Homeservices of America has been hit with a third amended US antitrust complaint from plaintiff home buyers, alleging the defendant entered into unlawful agreements with the National Association of Realtors and co-conspirator brokerages to reduce competition among real estate agents assisting home buyers. The agreement set anticompetitive rules that encouraged overuse of buyer agents, increasing their cost to home buyers while reducing the quality of their services, the complaint filed to the Southern District of Florida alleged. Local realtor associations and competitor brokerages agreed to restrict access to and use of their own multiple listing services to only NAR members, and required every seller-broker to make blanket offers of compensation to any buyer-agent who finds a buyer for a home, among other restraints, the filing said.See attached document: ...
