Boost investment in ports, vessels to meet EU wind targets, lobby group says

( August 4, 2025, 14:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU should increase investment in ports and vessels to support the development of offshore wind, industry group WindEurope said in a statement today. To meet offshore wind targets beyond 2030, around 2.4 billion euros should be invested in port infrastructure — on top of the 4 billion euros already invested over the past three years, the group said. WindEurope also called for accelerated permitting through initiatives such as the upcoming EU Ports Strategy. The bloc should also expand the fleet of specialized vessels needed to install next-generation wind turbines, leveraging the EU Maritime Industrial Strategy, it said.Full statement follows:...
