One of the most significant was the latest in an international dispute between Samsung and Headwater, in which the UPC broke with the American courts.
This past week, the Unified Patent Court addressed the ongoing dispute between Samsung and Headwater, finding partially in favor of the Korean conglomerate's application to revoke Headwater's telecommunications patent. Elsewhere, the decade-long dispute between Sanofi and Regeneron over anti-PCSK9 antibodies rumbled on as the court stayed proceedings pending the hearing of a separate appeal between the parties. The court also maintained strict procedural standards, rejecting an appeal against a decision not to grant a patent for a biotelemetry device, on the grounds that the applicants had filed the application with the wrong address and failed to correct it in the required timeframe....
