Players, clubs have right to review sports arbitration awards in EU states' courts

( August 1, 2025, 09:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Awards by the specialist sports tribunal in Lausanne, the Court of Arbitration in Sport, can be reviewed by judges in the EU's members states, the EU's top court has ruled. In a judgment related to Belgian club Royal Football Club Seraing, the Court of Justice said that national judges inside the bloc must be able to "carry out an in-depth review of those awards for consistency with the fundamental rules of EU law."The press statement and judgment are attached....
