T-Mobile-UScellular deal should get full FCC review, groups say

( July 30, 2025, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Rural Wireless Association, New America's Open Technology Institute, Benton Institute for Broadband & Society, and the Communications Workers of America filed an Application for Review with the US Federal Communications Commission seeking a full commission review of the decision to approve T-Mobile's acquisition of UScellular's wireless business and some of its spectrum holdings. The FCC delegated the earlier vote to the acting chiefs of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of International Affairs. The filing asks the full commission "to reject the findings of the Bureaus and designate the T-Mobile/UScellular transaction for a hearing because the Bureaus’ Order conflicts with established law and is based on erroneous findings with respect to important and material questions of fact."
