CAR's planned Machines4U deal sparks online-advertising review in Australia

( July 31, 2025, 02:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A proposal by CAR Group, the publicly listed owner of carsales.com.au, to acquire Mojo Holdco, the holding company for Machines4U, has attracted a public, informal review by Australia’s merger regulator. In a market-inquiries letter published today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that in addition to supplying online-listing services to buyers and sellers of new and used industrial machinery, both CAR and Machines4U supply online-display advertising. CAR operates in the US, South Korea, Chile and Brazil, as well as Australia; Machines4U is an Australian online-listings portal specializing in new and used industrial machinery.
