Meta denies forcing AI chatbot on WhatsApp users in Italian antitrust probe

It said it would cooperate with the AGCM probe, but argued that it "gives millions of Italians the choice to use AI in a place they already know, trust and understand.” At issue are alleged tying decisions, user lock-in effects, and use of WhatsApp interactions to train Meta AI's model.
