UK wind energy auction parameters updated to be more market-aligned

( July 29, 2025, 14:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The strike price caps for onshore, fixed-bottom, floating offshore as well as for onshore and remote island wind were raised last week by the UK government for its upcoming AR7 renewable energy auction, industry group WindEurope said in a press release yesterday. Projects will now receive 20-year Contracts for Difference, up from 15. The auction, opening next month, is expected to attract up to 53 billion pounds in private investment. WindEurope official Viktoriya Kerelska praised the higher price caps, suggesting the new auction design would lead to the construction of more wind farms.Press release follows....
