Mauri-Farmers Mill deal cleared by New Zealand antitrust regulator

( July 29, 2025, 05:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plans by Australia’s George Weston Foods (NZ), which trades as Mauri New Zealand, to acquire the wheat-milling and storage assets used by Farmers Mills have been approved by the New Zealand competition regulator. In a statement, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said that central to the regulator’s investigation was the level of competition that Farmers Mill would likely provide if the merger did not proceed.
