Ellerslie Free Range Farms' move on Australia's LPC Group faces regulatory review

In a market inquiries letter published today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that its review would focus on the closeness of competition between the two groups in the supply of shell eggs and poultry feed; the availability of alternative suppliers of shell eggs and poultry feed; and any impact of the proposed deal on the acquisition of inputs required for the supply of shell eggs. The review follows the ACCC’s decision to clear an unrelated egg-supply deal in May.
