EU, US seal trade deal with 15 percent baseline tariff

Steel and aluminum will be covered by a quota system, with final terms still pending. The deal also includes provisions for the EU to buy $750 billion in US energy over three years and invest $600 billion in the US economy. President Donald Trump and European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen today announced a major trade deal that would bring tariffs on European exports to the US down to 15 percent, with the announcement coming just days before an Aug. 1 deadline that would have seen high tariffs on the European economic bloc....
