Updated EU 2030 carbon storage target rules formally issued

( July 25, 2025, 08:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Revised rules on the identification of authorized oil and gas producers were published today in the EU's Official Journal. The producers are required to contribute to the objective of reaching the EU target for available CO2 injection capacity by 2030. According to the revision, oil and gas companies that produced less than 610,000 metric tons of oil equivalent, representing less than 5 percent of total EU production, between 2020 and 2023 will now be exempt.
