EU, Moldova agree on revamped trade agreement

( July 24, 2025, 15:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU and Moldova have agreed on a revamped Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, aimed at supporting Moldova’s ambitions to join the EU, the European Commission said today. The EU has agreed to expand access for key Moldovan agricultural exports such as plums, grapes, apples, and cherries by raising tariff quotas, while also lifting import duties on grape juice, tomatoes and garlic. In return, Moldova will improve market access for EU agricultural goods by increasing quotas for pork and poultry and introducing new quotas for frozen meat, milk, and butter. The deal still needs to be backed by EU governments before entering into force.Full statement follows....
