AI safety institutes remain focused despite politics, South Korean official says

A proposal to rename the organization following the UK and US rebranding was discussed but not approved due to opposition from some members, he told MLex in an interview.The sole global organization of major AI safety institutes agreed at its recent meeting in Canada that increasingly divergent approaches across countries should not deter their determination to collaborate on ensuring safety and security in the development of artificial intelligence, a South Korean official said....
