Review of BGC Cementitious bid by cement alliance paused by Australian regulator

( July 23, 2025, 02:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The review of the proposed BGC Cementitious acquisition by Adbri, Cement Australia, Holcim and HMA has been paused again, while Australia’s competition watchdog awaits further information. In a statement, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it had scrapped the provisional July 25 decision date and would announce a revised provisional decision date “in due course.” The review of the acquisition had earlier been delayed as Adbri, an Australian building materials supplier owned by CRH ANZ and the Barro Group, was added as the fourth acquirer of BGC Cementitious. Under the restructured deal, Adbri will acquire certain assets from BGC Cementitious, while Cement Australia, Holcim and HMA will acquire the remaining assets. The full entry on the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission website follows: ...
