Meta received data on pregnancy, period cycles, expert for Flo users tells US jury

By Xu Yuan and Mike Swift ( July 24, 2025, 00:40 GMT | Insight) -- Personal information provided by users to Flo, a period and ovulation tracking app, concerning their reproductive health was sent to Meta Platforms through its software development tools, a privacy expert for the users told a federal jury.  Serge Egelman, a research scientist at the University of California, Berkeley, today walked the eight-person jury through the computer code that he got by reverse engineering the Flo app to show the alleged data sharing between Flo and Meta, which are being sued by the users.Personal information provided by users to Flo, a period and ovulation tracking app, concerning their reproductive health was sent to Meta Platforms through its software development tools, a privacy expert for the users — who are suing Flo and Meta — told a federal jury....
