Kodak fined EUR100,000 for non-compliance with UPC Fujifilm patent ruling

( July 23, 2025, 13:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Kodak must pay a penalty of 100,000 euros and an additional daily fine in its patent dispute with Fujifilm, the Unified Patent Court’s Local Division in Mannheim ordered today. This action represents the execution of the court’s decision in April, when it said Kodak had infringed Fujifilm’s EP 3,511,174 relating to lithographic printing plate precursors in Germany. Kodak was found to have failed to provide information in time, failed to remove and recall products from the market, and failed to destroy them. The company received a lump sum penalty to be paid in two weeks’ time, and a fine of 2,500 euros for each day of non-compliance until Aug. 4. After that date, the penalty can be increased in the event of continued non-compliance.The order is attached. ...
