US FTC invites comment on Quantum-EQT petition to modify settlement

( July 22, 2025, 18:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A petition filed by private equity firm Quantum Energy and natural gas extractor EQT Corp. that asks the US Federal Trade Commission to revoke its 2023 consent decree against the two companies is now eligible for public comment, according to an FTC press release. The settlement that Quantum and EQT seek to void was triggered by government allegations of interlocking directorates and anticompetitive information-sharing. The two firms now argue that the settlement is moot and unnecessary given that Quantum has fully divested its stake in EQT, and the two firms have completely dissolved their joint venture.   See press release below. ...
