Four steel-wire makers fined by South Korean regulator for price fixing

( July 20, 2025, 03:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Four stainless steel wire manufacturers — DSR Wire, Manho Rope & Wire, Seah Metal and Hankuk Steel Wire — have been fined a combined 3.4 billion won (about $2.4 million) and issued corrective orders by South Korea’s competition regulator for price fixing. The Korea Fair Trade Commission found that the companies colluded between September 2020 and February 2022 to raise prices in step with raw material cost increases. They held seven meetings to coordinate price hikes on 300-series products and agreed not to compete on price.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
