NCAA gets injunction against injunction against ‘Five-Year Rule’ overturned

( July 16, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Collegiate Athletic Association convinced a US appeals court that a lower court abused its discretion when it granted an injunction against its enforcement of its Five-Year Rule against Nyzier Fourqurean. The Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit found that Fourqurean must independently define the relevant market, which he has not attempted to do. Furthermore, even if men’s NCAA Division I FBS football is the relevant market, Fourqurean’s exclusion from the market alone does not suffice to show likely anticompetitive effects, the court said.See attached file. ...
