Shipping operators MSC, MOBY offer commitments to end Italian antitrust probe

( July 17, 2025, 11:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Shipping companies SAS, Grandi Navi Veloci and MOBY have offered remedies to close an Italian antitrust probe. SAS, which is controlled by shipping group MSC, agreed to sell its 49 percent share in MSC’s competitor MOBY and to give up a pledge on 51 percent of MOBY's capital, promised to transfer its credit from MOBY to independent third parties and/or its total or partial write-off of that credit. MOBY will disinvest to settle a financing debt with SAS. GNV and MOBY offered financial compensation to consumers who traveled on the routes under investigation for possible collusion on ticket prices.
