Digital Networks Act threatens net neutrality, German consumer body warns

( July 17, 2025, 09:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission's planned Digital Networks Act could put net neutrality at risk and weaken consumer rights in the telecommunication sector, the Federation of German Consumer Organizations said in a statement today. It could pave the way for the introduction of network fees as a dispute mediation tool, which is “highly problematic,” the body said. The organization warned it could force smaller service providers to exit the market, and ultimately reduce consumer choice while increasing costs.
