EU Commission urged not to reopen data-protection law, but to fix privacy rule clashes

They called for more consistent enforcement and greater legal clarity, particularly around the interplay between the General Data Protection Regulation and other digital laws such as the ePrivacy Directive.The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, should not be reopened, stakeholders said today at a meeting to consider the application and simplification of the regulation.
