Wikipedia allowed to be joined by anonymous editor to challenge UK Online Safety Act

( June 11, 2025, 08:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Wikimedia Foundation, the parent organization to Wikipedia, was today allowed to have an anonymous volunteer editor join its challenge of the UK Online Safety Act. A High Court judge has allowed a second claimant to join the proceedings while keeping his or her name and address anonymous. The joint claimant will be referred to as BLN. Wikipedia is challenging the lawfulness of the Online Safety Act’s thresholds, which would place strict user identification duties on the online encyclopedia service.Judgment follows....
