Thailand requires 19 e-commerce platforms to assess business risks under new decree

( July 9, 2025, 09:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand has required 19 major digital marketplaces — including Shopee, Lazada, Alibaba, Grab and eBay — to comply with annual business-risk assessments under Section 20 of the Royal Decree on Digital Platform Services, effective July 10. The platforms must evaluate and report on risks related to consumer protection, product safety and digital trust. The Electronic Transactions Development Agency and the Food and Drug Administration are collaborating with private e-commerce providers to deploy AI tools that detect fraudulent and substandard health products.
