French winemakers receive EU antitrust guidance on sustainable cooperation

The European Commission said the guidance today was the first opinion it had given on an agreement by farmers seeking to benefit from an antitrust exemption for sustainable cooperation in the bloc’s agricultural policy. It seeks to address growing price sensitivity among consumers who are unaware of the costs of sustainable wine production. The EU’s competition chief Teresa Ribera said she hoped producers with other sustainable cooperation agreements would follow in seeking guidance.Statement follows....
