EU, Indonesia reach agreement in principle on trade deal

( July 13, 2025, 15:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU and Indonesia have reached a political agreement on a free-trade deal after nine years of negotiations. The deal — dubbed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement — will create a market of 730 million people, lower tariffs and open investment opportunities in sectors including agriculture, automotive and services, the European Commission said. The agreement will also feature provisions to improve access to critical raw materials. Both sides will now start work to consolidate the text at the technical level — the final step before presenting the deal to EU governments and lawmakers for ratification.Full statement follows....
