Weibo, Ele.me, QQ among 12 apps boosting data-privacy compliance

( July 10, 2025, 08:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chinese social platform Sina Weibo, food-delivery platform Ele.me, and instant-messaging app Tencent's QQ are among 12 apps that have completed corrections for the illegal collection and use of personal information under oversight by the Cyber Security Association of China, an Internet regulator-affiliated industry association. The 12 apps, spanning categories such as online communities, app stores, food and beverage takeaways, housing rentals and sales, webcasting, instant messaging and job search and recruitment, have released compliant versions on their official websites and app stores.
