Thailand's ride-hailing drivers are now required to register their vehicles

( July 10, 2025, 04:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Thailand Royal Gazette published an announcement that the drivers on ride-hailing platforms are required to register their vehicles as a form of public transport and get public driving licences. The regulation was issued by the Electronic Transactions Commission under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, announced on July 9 and will take effect in 90 days. This regulation designates ride-hailing platforms as a “digital platform business with specific characteristics”. It also requires that all the ride-hailing platforms must implement an emergency hotline feature that’s available 24-hour for incident reporting.The full regulation is attached....
