EU’s national regulators defend their independence in designing grid tariffs

( July 9, 2025, 09:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU's national regulatory authorities, or NRAs, should remain the primary independent bodies responsible for designing and approving the regulatory framework for grid tariffs, the Council of European Energy Regulators, or CEER, said yesterday in a press release. NRAs play a key role in developing dynamic pricing structures that promote efficient grid use, reduce the need for costly investments, and ensure a fair distribution of costs among consumers, CEER said.
