( July 8, 2025, 06:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s new white paper on information and communications, released today, revealed that the country’s adoption of artificial intelligence lags behind that of other major economies. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, only 26.7 percent of Japanese individuals have used generative AI services — an increase from 9.1 percent a year ago — but this is significantly lower than in such peer countries such as the US, at 68.8 percent and China, 81.2 percent. In addition, while 55.2 percent of Japanese companies have implemented generative AI, over 90 percent of companies in the US, Germany and China have adopted the technology. In the AI vibrancy ranking, Japan placed 9th, trailing countries such as the US, China, the UK and India.The statement is attached....
