Lactalis' play for Fonterra assets back on track, with new Australian review deadline

( July 8, 2025, 02:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The review of French global dairy group Lactalis’ proposed acquisition of businesses within the Fonterra Co-operative Group, including its consumer business globally and its dairy-ingredients and food-services businesses in Australia, has resumed, after a three week pause. In a note posted to its website, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it had restarted the clock on the review, after receiving additional information from the merger parties. The regulator has set July 10 as its new deadline for a decision.
