Proposed EU car labeling rules overhaul open for comments

( July 7, 2025, 11:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today opened a public consultation on an overhaul for EU car labeling rules. The regulation aims to provide European consumers with accurate information about cars’ fuel use and CO2 emissions for new cars sold and leased in the EU. It will introduce changes to the Car Labelling Regulation given the “substantial policy and market developments” since the adoption of those rules in 1999, the commission said.
