TikTok loses preliminary stage of UK data watchdog’s fine appeal process (correct*)

The First-tier Tribunal* today found that the data privacy regulator's 2023 fine was not made “with respect to processing of personal data for the special purposes,” which the social media site had hoped to rely on to be exempt from the fine.
