A compromise on migration-linked conditions is nearly finalized, but disagreements over a rice safeguard to protect EU producers persist. Denmark, which has chaired talks among national governments since July 1, is now working to build consensus and conclude negotiations. The EU’s preferential tariff program for developing countries is nearing an overhaul after a two-year stalemate, with a proposed safeguard for rice imports still holding up a final deal, MLex has learned....
