Google should change Android setup to show users' chosen browser, group says

( July 4, 2025, 10:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google should update its EU choice screen on Android to allow users to place their selected browser in the hotseat, a key position on the bottom of the home screen on mobile devices, campaign group Open Web Advocacy said in a blog. Despite users choosing alternative browsers, Chrome remains in the hotseat, a move which undermines the intent of the EU Digital Markets Act, the group said.
