South Korean government promises support for additional AI data centers

( July 3, 2025, 03:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s state affairs planning committee has said the new government will provide various policy incentives to support the construction of additional AI data centers, such as increased state investment and tax advantages. Song Kyung-hee, who leads the committee’s artificial intelligence task force, made the remarks during a meeting between some committee members and representatives from the private sector, including those from tech companies Samsung SDS Co and Kakao Corp. The committee has effectively been serving as a transition team for President Lee Jae Myung, who was inaugurated in early June without the benefit of a traditional transition period.
