EU exporters of carbon-intensive goods to get CBAM-funded compensation

The proposed scheme — to be unveiled by the end of 2025 — would support producers at risk of carbon leakage exporting to non-EU markets, and is meant to align with environmental and World Trade Organization rules.EU exporters of goods covered by the bloc’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism will get financial relief under a planned proposal to channel levy revenues into a compensation scheme for producers facing carbon leakage risks....
