Asian Paints under Indian antitrust scrutiny over alleged market abuse

The probe by the Competition Commission of India was triggered by a complaint from Grasim Industries. Grasim told the commission that Asian Paints pressured dealers for exclusivity with incentives, while punishing those who sold rival products through tactics such as cutting credit or hiking sales targets. The CCI directed its investigation arm, the Director General, to investigate and submit its report within 90 days.  Asian Paints, a dominant player in India's decorative paint market, is under scrutiny following allegations it has abused its market position....
