UK satellite, mobile operators to face new licensing rules, spectrum access changes

The proposals include charging non-geostationary satellite gateways based on spectrum usage, granting Amazon’s Project Kuiper a bespoke UK license for a new ground station in southwestern England, and creating fast-track, short-term licenses in the 2.3 gigahertz band to support news coverage, live events and mobile tech trials.
