Google signs world's largest nuclear fusion deal with Commonwealth Fusion Systems

The tech giant has entered into a power purchase agreement for 200 megawatts of carbon-free energy from CFS’s ARC fusion power plant in Virginia, which is expected to become commercially operational in the early 2030s. Following its initial investment in 2021, Google is now making a second capital investment in the company. Because the technology does not rely on traditional fuels or natural resources, nuclear fusion could become a transformative energy source for meeting the rising demand from energy-intensive industries and data centers, CFS said.Full press release follows:...
