Lufthansa’s airBaltic stake approved by Bundeskartellamt despite concerns

( June 30, 2025, 08:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Lufthansa has seen Germany's competition authority approve its acquisition of a 10 percent minority shareholding in airBaltic, despite expressing "serious competition concerns." The Bundeskartellamt said it was unable to act on these since they related to routes connecting Germany and the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which are "minor markets" with low revenues and so exempt from German merger control.The press statement follows....
