Teledoc must defend federal, state wiretapping allegations, US judge rules

( June 25, 2025, 17:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge in New York has denied in part a motion-to-dismiss by Teledoc Health, saying the telehealth platform must defend state and federal wiretapping allegations because of its installation of the Facebook Tracking Pixel on its website. US District Judge Nelson S. Román denied Teledoc's move to dismiss claims under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the California Unfair Competition Law, based on the allegations Teledoc conveyed protected health information to Facebook, which the company used to target ads about the plaintiffs' medical conditions back to them. See attached document....
