US Senator Cruz issues latest text of budget bill with state AI law restrictions

( June 25, 2025, 10:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Senate Commerce Chair Ted Cruz of Texas released updated federal budget reconciliation text, including a modified version of a pause on state artificial intelligence law enforcement and an additional $500 million in federal funding for deploying AI projects. "A single state should not have the power to set AI rules for the entire country," Cruz wrote in an accompanying one-pager.
